Our client is a company that wants to do business in a reputable way and therefore takes Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) seriously. Although CSR is starting to take hold at various levels of the organization, it is clear that the company needs to drive CSR forward in a coordinated way and embed it within the Group and its core business processes. Not only do external and internal stakeholders increasingly expect the company to take a clear position with regard to CSR, also the Executive Board is of the opinion that CSR must become an explicit part of the company policy. CSR should however be approached in a manner that is in line with the company’s business model and build on the company's core competencies thereby differentiating itself from competitors whilst at the same time maximising its positive impact on society.. Line management is responsible for developing, implementing and reporting the CSR policy. Coordination, supporting and monitoring takes place on a central level to stimulate that the company realizes its CSR ambition and to manage communication with external and internal stakeholders.

 

The position - Coordinator Corporate Social Responsibility

MAR Recruitment Solutions has been requested to search for a Coordinator Corporate Social Responsibility for the department General Affairs. The Coordinator CSR reports to the Corporate Director of General Affairs who is responsible for CSR in the Group. She/he is responsible for developing, coordinating, coaching, supporting, reporting and monitoring the development and implementation of the company’s CSR policy under high level guidance of the Vice President General Affairs.
It is to be expected that once the CSR function becomes mature, a direct reporting line to an Executive Board member will be established.

Tasks &Responsibilities

 

  • Advises management of the Group in all CSR matters
  • Acts as the first point of contact for the company entities and members in CSR matters
  • Builds an internal network to stimulate, support and monitor the company entities and members in developing and implementing CSR policies
  • Stimulates and where necessary takes the lead in the internal dialogue about CSR subjects
  • Identifies, selects and develops proposals to embed CSR principles in the core processes, products and ecological footprint of the company’s offices. He/she furthermore analyses and proposes opportunities for the company and its members to act as a good corporate citizen
  • Monitors developments in the public domain regarding CSR and within Rabobank and assesses their potential relevance for the company and communicates this within the company
  • Provides input for the company’s CSR policy and monitors its implementation
  • Coordinates the internal and external communication about CSR
  • Coordinates and gathering of input from the company entities for the CSR reporting to Rabobank and analyze this input for correctness and consistency
  • Represents the company in Rabobank CSR meeting structures
  • Advises the Vice President General Affairs in all CSR matters

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Age: From 35 years onwards (not limitative)
  • Languages: Excellent knowledge of English. Knowledge of any other European language is an advantage
  • Education: Bachelor or Master degree, preferably an education in CSR

 

The ideal candidate has 3 to 5 years experience in a (type of) CSR Coordinator’s role and looks back on a CSR track record, preferably in the financial services industry. The candidate demonstrates his/her affinity with CSR for example through participation in economical, social and/or cultural projects or activities. The nature and organizational position of the role requires the capability to enthusiastically encourage line management with convincing and appealing arguments, to find practical solutions and to be result oriented. The global scope of the organization’s activities requires a sensitivity for cultural differences and an excellent command of the English language.
